Dear New York Times,
Some propaganda with your name on it has recently come to my attention. It goes like this:
The truth is hard. The truth is hidden. The truth must be pursued. The truth is hard to hear. The truth is rarely simple. The truth is rarely obvious. The truth doesn't take sides. The truth is not red or blue. The truth is necessary. The truth can't be glossed over. The truth has no agenda. The truth is hard to accept. The truth pulls no punches. The truth is worth defending. The truth requires taking a stand. The truth is more important now than ever.
All this couldn't be further from the Truth.
(Herein I'll use the capital 'T' Truth, in case there is indeed a distinction similar to what lies between Rapture and rapture, only in reverse as Truth is the non-dogmatic form, whereas Rapture is rife with dogma.)
The Truth is simple and easy, not hard to find, hard to accept, hard to recognize, or hard to hear. We know it when we see it.
We see it when we sit still, in silence, alone until we are no longer scared. But it doesn't require sitting still, or taking a stand, or silence, or solitude. We see the Truth when we face death and smile. We see the Truth when we give more than we have. We see it when we love recklessly, when we run amok in love, when we go hog wild or go limp in love. We see the Truth when we stop trying and stop trying to stop trying all at once.
The Truth hides in plain sight, right behind our eyes. It's written all over our faces whenever we're not in character or on brand. The Truth is coursing through our veins.
The Truth is widely available and readily apparent. It needs no introduction and need not be defended. The Truth is impervious to attack. It can't be denied. The Truth is as invincible as it is vulnerable. Utterly.
The Truth will not be televised because the Truth cannot be televised, or broadcast, or syndicated, or live-streamed. The Truth cannot be bought or sold, or stolen or hidden away. It can't be released or divulged because it can't be kept secret. The Truth is not for sale, and it's not for some, only for one and all.
The Truth must be felt, lived, breathed, embodied, experienced first-person plural. There is no them, only us. And we are the Truth, to our core. At the very bottom of the well of being dug deep into our heart center pools the primordial soup of all possibilities, ready to foam up: a bottomless cauldron of Truth stew.
We hold the Truth to be self-evident.
We hold Truth to be self-evident, and that all humen and beings are sacred and sovereign, that we are endowed by our nature with innate gifts and abilities, that among these are Awareness, Attention, and Intention, that we might continue evolving toward better versions of Ourself with curiosity, creativity, gratitude, generosity, and above all Love, and that we might accept and enjoy what is, and imagine what can be, continually refining and redefining beauty and bliss until it is time to become food and rest again.
Besides that, we know nothing, except:
Love is the answer.
Consciousness is primary.
Everyone and everything is connected.
Everything is being, alive and conscious.
Each being is sovereign and able to tend.
